Overview:
Through 35 season, the WTT is well known for introducing innovative elements to tennis including instant replay, co-ed format, multi-colored courts, cumulative and no-ad scoring, on-court coaching, Supertiebreakers and player names on back of their shirts. Team matches consist of five events, with one set each of men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The first team to reach five games wins each set. A nine-point tiebreaker is played if a set reaches four-all. One point is awarded for each game won. If necessary, Overtime and a Supertiebreaker are played to determine the winner of the match.

The WTT match format at the professional and grassroots levels consists of one set each of men?s and women?s singles, one set each of men's and women's doubles and one or two sets of mixed doubles (one set in the professional league and two sets in the recreational league). Every game counts for a point in the final score. A team must win the last game of the last set of doubles to prevail no matter how far it is ahead; many matches thus go into overtime and occasionally, dramatic comebacks occur.
