Venus Williams and Martina Navratilova will be among the many top names in tennis visiting the Capital District during the upcoming NY Buzz World Team Tennis 2009 season.

In the 2009 Buzz schedule released earlier Wednesday, Venus and her Philadelphia Freedoms will visit the NY Buzz on Thursday, July 9. Navratilova will make her appearance in Albany on Tuesday, July 14.

Williams holds 16 career Slam titles including seven singles victories most recently at Wimbledon last year. Navratilova owns 59 career Majors including 18 in singles. Combined the two legends of the game have 75 Slam titles between them.

After winning her 40th career title this past Sunday in Dubai, Venus is currently ranked No. 5 on the WTA computer.

The Buzz will begin the defense of their 2008 World Team Tennis title on July 3 when Philadelphia comes into town. The completed roster for the Buzz will be announced following the player draft on March 31.
