 July 18 - Tennis great Pete Sampras makes his long-awaited return to the Capital District Wednesday evening as his Newport Beach Breakers take on the NY Buzz. Sampras, who is considered to be the greatest tennis player of all time behind his record 14 Grand Slam titles and six year-end No. 1 finishes, reached his first career ATP semifinal right here in Schenectady in 1988. Sampras won 64 career titles, including seven Wimbledons, five US Opens and two Australian Opens. Tickets are sold out.
