 February 5 -- Tennis great Pete Sampras makes his long-awaited return to Schenectady this summer when his Newport Beach Breakers take on the NY Buzz on Wednesday, July 18. Sampras, whose first career ATP semifinal appearance came at Schenectady in 1988, is a 14-time Grand Slam champion and a six-time year-end World No. 1, both all-time records in men’s tennis. During his incredible career, Sampras won 65 pro titles including the 2002 US Open, his last official tour event.
