 July 18 -- Tennis great Venus Williams will make her first appearance in Schenectady Wednesday night as her Philadelphia Freedoms battle the NY Buzz. The 26-year-old Williams has been one of the game's premier players the last 10 years, amassing 33 career WTA titles including five Grand Slams and reaching the finals at six other Majors. Venus turned pro in 1994 and reached the No. 1 ranking for a first time in February of 2002. Earlier this month she teamed with Bob Bryan to reach the finals of the Wimbledon mixed doubles.
