July 7 - The Buzz opened their 2005 campaign in grand fashion Wednesday night edging the Kansas City Explorers 21-20 (2-0 OT). New Buzz star Brian Vahaly clinched the hard-fought win with a singles win in the final match. Entering the last singles, the Buzz were down 18-13 but Vahaly overcame the deficit defeating Brian Macphie 5-2 in regular scoring and then added two more games in the overtime. With the match tied, Vahaly took the super tiebreak 7-3 to earn victory for the Buzz. Vahaly has posted an earlier win teaming with Jaymon Crabb in mens doubles. The Buzz travel to Delaware Thursday night, then return Friday evening to again face Delaware at MVP Stadium. Tickets are available at 518-378-BUZZ.
