July 8 -- In her much-anticipated Schenectady appearance, popular Anna Kournikova proved to be no match for the NY Buzz. The Buzz trounced the 23-year-old Russian in the first two opening doubles matches. But the Explorers behind tour veterans David MacPherson and Sylvia Talaja overcame a 10-4 game deficit to hand the Buzz their fourth straight defeat. "The fans were awesome and I guess the matches were pretty close, so hopefully the fans enjoyed watching it," said Kournikova after the match. The win for Kansas City was their first on the season. The Buzz now travel to New York City to face the Sportimes Friday night.
