July 6 -- After a strong start, NY Buzz hopes for a first win on the season collapsed at the hand of the Philadelphia Freedoms. Thanks to Justin Bower and Bryanne Stewart, the Buzz looked sharp early on as they forged a 5-3 lead after the opening mixed doubles. But that was the last lead the Buzz would have as Philadelphia found their grove registering four straight match wins to close out NY 23-17. Rising young star John Paul Fruttero and fellow American Ansley Cargill both won two matches for the Freedoms.
