The NY Buzz earned their first victory of the season easily handling Andy Roddick and the St. Louis Aces 22-15. In front of a sold out crowd of over 2,400, the Buzz jumped out quickly on the Aces, notching an early lead with set wins over Roddick in men's doubles and with the help of the ever-improving Shenay Perry in women's singles. But Roddick, the No. 6 player in the world, showed why he is one of the game's best by blasting Justin Bower 5-2 in the marquee singles competition. Roddick, however, couldn't keep momentum going in the next match as he double faulted on the final point of the mixed doubles to hand Don Johnson and Nannie De Villiers the set and a 17-13 Buzz lead. De Villiers then joined Perry to win the women's doubles 5-2 and close out the victory.
